I've always been attracted to simple and clean styles of illustration and have been strongly influenced by the Pop Art of Patrick Nagel and Andy Warhol. In my paintings, I work the composition to create tension between the positive and negative spaces, which tends to accentuate the informality of the format.

I graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1986, before design became digitally produced and hand skills were still an integral part of commercial art. I had the great fortune of studing with some incredibly talented people, including Henry Koerner and sculptor Tim Kaulen. My professional career included corporate, B2B, consumer and recruitment advertising and communications.
